| Photo Courtesy of: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/yo-yo-ma-plays-near-sellout-supreme-court/ I chose Yo Yo Ma as my musician of the week because I recently learned that Yo Yo Ma has/had scoliosis (just like I do/did), and had the same corrective procedure that I did. Like Yo, I played cello. Unfortunately, unlike Yo Yo Ma, I was rather pathetic at playing cello, and therefore only played it for one year... Yo Yo Ma on the other hand, plays BEAUTIFULLY!

Hi! I'm Maura! And Here's Some Stuff About Me...
My name: Maura
The Class I'm In Now: Digital Illustration
Why I'm Taking Art: I am taking art this year mostly because I dropped AP Biology (because science) before the school year began. But I really do love art, and most forms of art. Art class is the one class in school that you can be (almost) as expressive and free as you want. And it's fantastic.
What I Want To Do With My Life: If this were a perfect world, I would--without a doubt--be an author. I would write fictional novels about anything and everything. And it would be AWESOME... However, the world is not perfect, so it looks like I'm going to be a lawyer with a double major or a minor in politics. After lawyer-ing (which is totally a word), I want to land a job as a speech writer for a governor or senator, eventually writing speeches for POTUS--the President of the United States of America.
My Favorite Style of Art is: Photography. It is amazing to me how much emotion you can capture with a click of a button on your camera. And with another click of a button on your desktop, you can change the entire tone/mood of your work by changing your picture from color to black and white. And that, to me, is just plain cool.
